Since 2003 this on-going project of Allegheny College in Meadville, PA has allowed the college to manage its lawns and sports turf through organic means. It includes an on-site compost facility (which processes cafeteria food, yards wastes and manures), compost tea manufacturing and the means to apply compost and bioinoculants throughout the campus. This has allowed the college to eliminate much of its purchases of fertilizer, mulch and topsoil.
